   As a long-time Hokie fan going back to the 1970s there is no doubt in my mind, none, that this staff has the potential to be the best recruiting staff we have ever had. If we can start winning again we can get the talent to absolutely change our status again, like the 1990s, in college football.

   People don’t join (or leave) organizations. They join (or leave) PEOPLE! I have heard Pry say something to the effect that “we want folks who WANT to be at Virginia Tech - who LOVE their school”! Mines is creating an extension (sub-culture) of Pry’s vision! VALUE’s BASED RECRUITING at its best!

   Coach Mines sounds like a tremendous asset to our recruiting efforts. Retaining him needs to be a high priority.

    I apologize. I know this article is intended to spotlight Coach Mines and it does an excellent job. But the central theme that keeps coming back is how infectious the energy and personal relationships of Coach Pry seems to be.

    Recruiting is everything - get good to great players and you will most likely have good to great teams. I believe we have the right coaching staff in place for developing players and X/Os type stuff - just gotta keep on recruiting, recruiting, recruiting....
