Virginia Tech cornerback Dante Lovett is on both lists. But where? (Ivan Morozov)
It’s time for one of our favorite yearly projects: our top prospects article that covers the top young players in the Virginia Tech program. This is a combination effort between GMSAHokie and Chris Coleman. Both writers will go over their lists from a year ago and how they fared before moving on to their current list.

Good stuff as usual. I need all this I can get to be able to make it until 8:00 PM on the 2nd.
I notice many don't give the Hokies much respect yet. With what I'm seeing I feel Pry and staff are building us a team to be proud of. They are going to get us there.

For some reason I think Pop will play and play early. Something tells me Wells will “freeze” and Pry will rip the bandaid off early. Hope I’m wrong.

Not sure Coach will rip the band aid off early. He chose not to last season and we all saw the results. This year will be different as we have more talent - looking for at least 7 wins. Go Fighting Gobblers

Enjoyed the talent analysis! Great job GMSA with your intuition.
QB: We'll just have to see how it plays out, but I've had a concern all along that Drones might be another Patterson with...the good news...Watson leapfrogging him next year.

It’s fun to read about potential and progress! I realize we need more pieces and more time for maturity, but as I was reading the picks over the last two years, I couldn’t help but think about the future if we keep improving recruiting for another two years! (Maybe find “THE QB” and keep restocking the lines?!?!). Improvement will keep selling tickets and keep fans engaged!

Great article, It's always fun to see expectations vs reality. I think it would be nice to have a graphic at the end comparing your two lists side by side to see who you all agree on and whatnot

I’ll have Pop on my list next year. And, I bet I’ll have him VERY high. I would have put Chaplin in the Top 5 this year if I hadn’t already put him at #2 last year.

Chris's last sentence caught my attention. Considering Pop Watson's position, he was left off the list - but Chris may end up regretting it. Does that mean that it is slightly possible that he contributes this year?
GMSAHokie
Barring a catastrophe, Pop will redshirt.

Would imagine Pry tries his best to get him in 2-4 games… Only issue I foresee is trying to get Drones experience at the same time

Enjoyed guys. Thank you. Exciting to have some solid up and coming talent in the program with even more coming next year and the years to come. Go Hokies!!!!
