Jerod Evans would be a very good fit for the 2023 Virginia Tech offense. (Ivan Morozov)
1) You have a time machine that can go back one decade (to 2013). You are allowed to grab one player from a previous Hokie football team and bring them to the present to immediately improve the 2023 football team. Who are you bringing from the past to the present and why? – Lumbee09

Is it fair to say Kam's Pro career overshadows his college play? When he left Tech nobody thought he would go on to be that good in the NFL. I remember him being good but not great at Tech. He got exposed in the passing game. Give me Willie Pile all day.

I REALLY hope the Duke comparison comes true but it is a telling comparison. Duke was in year 1 under Elko, it went great with a "talent deficient roster". Our year 1 under Pry did NOT go well with a "talent deficient roster". The problem is Pry does not seem to be Elko. Again, the big difference is Chris is comparing year 1 for Duke with year 2 for Pry. Those aren't the same. With Elko Duke and the writers covering him didn't know how Elko would do, they did not have any track record. We do have a track record, even slight. To hire Bowen was dubious, to keep him could be fatal. I DO want Pry to be successful of course. And despite his clock mismanagement and refusal to give up the defense until the last game of the year I do think he can learn to be a decent head coach. One thing is certain, our defense will be solid. But if Bowen doesn't magically become a decent coach Pry may look back on keeping him as his biggest mistep.

You should do your all-VT offense and special team now too

Forget about NFL success, Adibi was a much better college LB than Edmunds

Was with Bobby Ross last week and see him regularly at a breakfast location. As fine a man as you’ll meet and still sharp.

Make adibi play whip!

Where does Virginia Tech sit offensively and defensively in the 131 teams?

What happened to the NC State game in the evaluation?
Will Stewart
Thanks for the heads-up. Chris is going to add NC State in. I told him to include a note that the original version didn't have them in there.

That was one long winded, non-committal answer to whether we can expect a successful season.
Stork
We will have a successful season.

Succinct-er…. YES!

Not one Fuller in your secondary! Just goes to show how deep we've been at that position.
Justin Berkley
? Not seeing Kendall on that list kinda hurt my feelings

Kyle Fuller at FS. He could play anywhere from Whip to CB to Rover to FS

One thing I noticed towards the end of last season was a more concerted effort by the defense to strip the ball. Mansoor Delane was particularly good at this. I believe he forced one against Georgia Tech that did not get recovered, and he forced the fumble against Liberty that led to the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Answer to the first questions is off. Evans might be the correct first pick but Christian Darrisaw is the clear next option.

Question #4 is one of those that leaves me crying in my Wild Turkey for the glory days of VT football. When your list of defensive ends excludes guys like Darryl Tapp and Chris Ellis, you know the program has had some amazing star talent on defense. Not to mention the numerous studs at DB (Macho Harris, Kendall Fuller, on and on). You've gotta have stars to win consistently, and VT has had lots of them over the years.

In my opinion, nothing less than a six win season will be my successful season!

That was the consensus on the message board and what Chris stated in his article. So.... hopefully the coaches and players can get us there.

im already stacking my benjamins on tough defence and improving albeit slowly improv offence for some UNDER hokie action early schedule.
