Virginia Tech started June by hosting official visitors last week, and it came away with a commitment from Charlotte safety Quentin Reddish. Our understanding is that there is one more silent verbal from the weekend that will be announced at a later date.

This is the type of recruit Pry has to have a few of in each recruiting year. If a player visits you 9 times, you have to have him commit. Extremely disappointing if he goes elsewhere. This is a huge target for Pry. Sets the tone for recruiting going forward.

For what is worth 247 has his recruitment as "cool" for Tech - implying that he is not considering Tech.

  247 rarely / inconsistently updates those heat-ratings. It's a nice idea but one they don't really execute

Didn't like Glover first time I saw a video of him. I am 71 and trust my judgment of people unlike in my 20s and 30s.

The pic of Chris Cole must not do him justice as an LB. He looks like a WR??? What's his sauce for being so in demand as a LB (i.e. Speed, Tackling, Powerful Hitter, Frame to Grow, etc.)?

  He's filled out a bit since then (reportedly up to 210) and he's got a big frame. As a comparison, Xavier Adibi was listed at 197 on BeamerBall when he first enrolled, though his official weight on the HokieSports roster was 215.

  He has speed, explosiveness, tackling ability, length and range. All the things you want in an OLB

Maybe CP should remind Cole that Bruce Smith's NFL prospects weren't hurt by playing for VT at a time when we had never won a bowl game, were an Indpendent w/o any conference affiliation, had never been ranked in the Top 10, had only produced 3-AA's (Carroll Dale, Frank Loria and Mike Widger), had a stadium that seated only 35K - and rarely that - were never on TV and was an after thought when it came to CFB. Further, Bruce Smith was a "Patriot," as he wanted to play in his home state. Did he ever. Anyone who has not seen, "A NFL Life: Bruce Smith," shoukd. Bruce's love of VA and Tech are prominent aspects of the show. He is, was and always will be a proud Hokie!

    He was the best I ever saw in person!! He was a terrific runner, adequate pass and punter, and overall a great guy!!

      Very true. Bob was a classmate '65 and a very fine man in addition to being a superb football player. Bob played cornerback at the Senior Bowl primarily covering Notre Dame receiver Jack Snow. Bob shut him down. Drafted 2nd round(IIRC) by the Jets along with Joe Namath.

I don’t understand why glover would have beef with this staff? And he probably shouldn’t advise recruits because his son went to UNC and got worse now he’s at a different school.

With Glover as the trusted advisor, there is fairly close to 0% shot...what a weird dynamic given what Glover is certainly telling him, vs fact he clearly loves vt - 9 visits tells that story.

  Ooops, you're right, I'll edit that part. The key though is that schools are still only allowed to host 56 official visitors per year. That hasn't changed. And that's really the most important thing. So Georgia, Bama, etc. won't be able to bring everybody in the country down for officials just because they can afford it. So it's still possible to tell who they truly want and who they don't. But if that cap gets lifted, or raise, it will be a free for all. We won't be able to look at a visit list and determine who is a true player in a recruitment anymore.
