Remember all that stuff I said about disregarding the spring game? I’m going to ignore my own advice and try to put together a depth chart for the fall based a lot on what I saw Saturday, plus the rest of March and April’s workouts.

My relative comfort level.with the offensive position groups: 1. RB 2. WR 3. TE 4. QB 5. OL

  Qb: Wells is Grant Noel. Good enough with good skill players TE: traditional guy who is a senior paired with high upside athletic underclassman WR: by volume someone will hit RB: I need to see it on the field in a game OL: 4 good linemen short of my comfort zone but then again we used to role converted tight ends out as starters

    Wells is no way Noel. How do you even get there other than they are both named Grant. Noel was a statue with two knee braces at times.

      They are similar size, have similar passing stats, and are game managers.

        I got in trouble when I was 5 years old by saying Grant Noel sucks in front of my mom. She asked why did I say that and I said “that’s what dad said”

I was impressed with the play of Meadows at LT in the spring game. That gives us a solid back up at tackle. As well as Hanson being a great back up at guard. A transfer or 2 on the line would be great. I love our depth everywhere else on the offense

  What's the ideal scholarship breakdown? Do you start with three-deep (no freshmen) at every position? That would be 66, then two specialists and one more QB and RB. That's 70, leaving 15 for freshmen recruiting class, which is not enough. We have to cut five loose, and if you take out assumed three-deep guys, then at least two of those will be R-Fr. That's tough.

Excellent, Andy. Getting some depth in the portal with another LB kid would be nice. He, Mcclain, and Givens all played together.
