Thank you Brandon! After reading your take on the pass protection, seeing the clips and then you STILL saying that you think that this is a great hire to get the hokies offense crawling, i'm going to take your word for it. After reading this, Wells is going to have to make quicker decisions than he did last year because he's not going to have time to stand back in the pocket. I also see why they brought in the former OC from Army. I think we're trying to get the QB more involved in the running game. Wells seemed reluctant to keep the ball last year. Hope that improves this year. Thanks again Brandon!

Very good analysis and study.... my take
1. Crooks is solid established hire who has been around, and known for being a team and flexible to what the coach desires, but also works very hard. Everywhere he's been there have been solid line play (not splashy but solid).. and that is what Tech needs. I like the terminology VERTICAL play. This goes into the apparent vision of VT to be a hard running vertical team.
2. He wanted someone of stability who wanted to be be here too, and apparently Crook inquired. not castigating but Rudolph found a way to leave a shaky program at Wisconsin (with a solid resting place, great salary and good guy to work for),, however he was short term and if a more desirable position came up with $$ he would jump. One of the other candidates for this job was in a SEC program, with a head coach also in shaky position, he jumped to a big 10 school, and the AAC/big 12 guy dont think he really wanted to leave. Pry got someone who wants to be here, will work hard, not looking for other opportunities and so many of Pry's connection spoke really high about him. To me, that's all you want...

Brandon- I just realized I should have posted this here instead of on your previous article a week ago:
I was wondering if to u have any coverage on NFL teams anywhere online. I began following NFL Fantasy football closely, and I am always looking for info like this on pro teams.
If you followed any pro teams, I think you would really develop a following there ($$$?) quickly, as well.
I’m always a VT fan, but following NFL now more closely. It would be amazing to gain your insight on NFL plays and strategeries.
Amazing stuff. Thanks again.

You know, I don't think I've watched an NFL game since Super Bowl XLI. Used to be that guys doing this stuff for the pro teams were a dime a dozen, but I'm guessing a lot of it's pay-walled now.

Glad I'm a new subscriber, that's some heady homework. Thanks for the insight Brandon.
