Virginia Tech held an open practice in Lane Stadium on Saturday. (Jon Fleming)
Virginia Tech receiver Jaylin Lane fired off the line, locked up with Mansoor Delane in short order and in a snap decision decided to get physical, using both arms to shove the cornerback straight back and onto his butt before releasing to the inside for an easy touchdown.

As I've said in another forum, Andy is more prolific than Frank Zappa. Looking forward to all of his articles now on TSL!

Great article. Will be interesting to see how many more players we lose through the spring. Sounds like Drones is competing for 2nd string job, though I know it's early. Will be interesting to see if other QBs start to get more reps. What is going on with Tisdale? Seems he often has off-field issues. Hope all is ok with him. Brings lots of talent and experience to the table. Thanks Andy.

I love The Bitter Report. You give great insight into Hokie football. I always liked your articles with The Roanoke Times and The Athletic. Glad I can still read your reports on TSL. Go Hokies.

Love me some Andy Bitter. He and TSL will be a lovely arrangement.

Thanks Andy! Great coverage! I hope the actual play on the field mirrors the coverage you provide. If so, 2023 may be better than most think.

Great article Andy and I am enjoying all the interaction with almost every post. This is going to be next level coverage: just hope the level of play comes up a bit over last year. Go Hokies!

That’s so true - “ When the receiver room’s going at VT, then VT’s going.”

The Mines quote: when we have nfl talent at receiver - we have production and a good team. The talent is the difference. We have to be great on O. the players have to make it happen.

Ahhh, getting the Bitter fix again. Smooth as silk.

Glad to have Andy on board - adds value to my only source for Hokie sports news!

So, Tech needed to release five from the current squad (including recruits) to get to 85 for next year? Miletic, Christian and Walker have left. That leaves two more?
Andy Bitter
No, those are accounted for in getting VT down to 90.
It's five more.

Let’s see what Wells does when the bright lights come on. Today was a low pressure setting. I’m pulling for the kid but he needs to improve.
Andy Bitter
He does. So does Drones, though.

excellent summary, thanks!

Andy, great to see you here. The old employer is just not the same without you. I won't renew. All the best with TSL.

I do love your coverage on VT sports. So glad you are back and still cover VT (instead of another college).

What about Pry chewing out the DL at the end? I couldn't hear what it was about. But he seemed definitely upset with them and called out some individuals

Thanks, Andy! Didn't waste any time getting this posted.
