Virginia Tech returns home to face a Georgia Tech team that’s been through a tumultuous year highlighted by the canning of head coach Geoff Collins after several lackluster seasons and going 1-3 to start 2022. Interim head coach Brent Key has the Jackets on a better pace, having the team at 2-2 in his time, with the two wins being impressive upsets over Pitt and Duke, and the two losses coming with the loss of quarterback Jeff Sims. Given their improved record and play, Key’s time working under Nick Saban, and the fact Key’s a GT alum, I imagine at this moment he’s the frontrunner for the full-time gig.
