Kaleb Smith and Virginia Tech nearly had NC State. (Ivan Morozov)
The Hokies continued their outstanding performance as college football’s rebound win, this time giving NC State a needed confidence boost. I’m writing this on Halloween, so in the spirit of the spooky season, let’s put on our long rubber gloves and pick through the corpse a little.

Briar Patch is a great description of the punt protection

Brandon, thanks for another informative article. Losers find a way to lose and winners finds a way win. True just about 99% of the time and for VT unfortunately 100% this year. Absolutely pathetic display by our football team, both by coaches and players. So sad how far we have fallen since our heyday back in the early 2000s. Somebody(s) have obviously been asleep at the wheel in Bburg regarding how to run a successful football program.

Thomas mayu be on the bad luck express, but the play sent him piling into a scrum with a QB runing right up his back.... a recipe for injury

Eh... it's football. Any guy playing meaningful snaps can get hurt. Would you feel any better if Thomas had gotten injured in pass protection instead? Or on a RB run?

VT should have won the NCSU game, that is the problem I am having with this team. IF the offense had done anything in the first half the defense would not have been so gassed in the fourth quarter. Not sure what is going to change this Saturday, but I will be there to see for myself.
