With NIL and the portal destroying college athletics as we know it along with any allegiance that a player should have to the school that is paying dearly for his or her college education, completely forget about redshirting, especially if the athlete is showing any sign of potential and play them while we got 'em.

If the QB position (and offense in general) is still struggling come the GT game I'd start Devin (or at the very least let him play some meaningful snaps) the last 4 games. That allows him to get his feet wet but also retain his redshirt as well.

Maybe this is an outdated term, but do we have any "four-year guys" identified, like Dylan Rivers was a few years ago? (Unfortunately, he got hurt). It is for the kid who loves football, but realizes he won't go pro. He gets his degree and moves on, maybe into coaching. Do coaches ask kids if they expect to exhaust eligibility?
