(Ivan Morozov)Pry is bringing a multiple 4-3 defense to Virginia Tech, but as I’ve mentioned before, it’ll look and play a lot like Bud Foster’s and Justin Hamilton’s defenses. Pry was a GA at Tech in the peak years of Foster’s 4-4 scheme, and he seemed to take that scheme with him as he moved on in his career. Just like Foster’s eventual 4-2 base grew out of the 4-4, Pry’s 4-3 grew out of the 4-4 and still maintains the eight-man-front principle of trying to keep defenders responsible for only one gap at a time.
