The staffing race has grown well beyond analysts. After looking at a number of teams, I find that the following roles are also places that teams have been out-resourcing each other:
- Coaching advisors, i.e., Jerry Kill-types
- Recruiting staff (including Player Personnel staff)
- Player Development staff
- Operations
Tech has seen growth in these roles, too. While the concern for the Hokies post-Baylor appears to be, at least in part, growing the staff, it was also a concern for Fuente when he was first hired. Here’s a comparison between football staff right now and Beamer’s last year:
