Virginia Tech returned from upstate New York with a victory over Syracuse, which evened the Hokies’ ACC record at 2-2. Though this is certainly a down Syracuse team, it was still an impressive victory for Tech for several reasons.
Beating Syracuse
Syracuse is 8-7 on the season. Assuming they lose in Charlottesville this weekend, they’ll be 8-8 overall and 1-4 in the ACC. I’m not exactly all torn up about it. I’ve never been a fan, and that stems from the four-year stretch that Virginia Tech’s men’s basketball program spent in the Big East from 1999-03.
