Virginia Tech hosted defensive back Lannden Zanders on Nov. 18 for their game vs. Pittsburgh.

In just over a year, 2019 athlete Lannden Zanders has hit a growth spurt. As a sophomore, he wrestled for Kings Mountain High School at 113 pounds. This year, after transferring to Crest High School in Shelby, N.C., Zanders developed into a legitimate college football prospect.

Zanders played both sides of the ball this season at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds. On offense, he hauled in a team-high 24 catches for 363 yards and five touchdowns, and added 95 yards rushing. On defense,  is where Zanders especially shined, as he finished with 54 tackles and seven tackles for loss to go with six interceptions and a blocked kick.
