I picked Virginia Tech to beat UVA 34-17 in last week’s game preview. The Hoos had not been beaten by more than 21 points all season and though everybody knew they were a bad team, they had at least been somewhat competitive in nearly all of their games. They had nothing to lose on Saturday, so I (and many others) figured the Hokies would get their best effort.
