Notre Dame extended a scholarship offer yesterday to Northside (Roanoke, VA) standout Chance Hall, a two-way lineman who helped the Vikings capture the 3A state championship in 2013. Hall, a 6'4", 290-pound rising senior, is also considering scholarships from Duke, Marshall, Maryland, North Carolina, NC State, Old Dominion, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
"I think he was a little bit shocked and excited [about the Notre Dame offer]," Northside head coach Burt Torrence said. "He had received a lot of mail and had been in contact through social media, but I think he was shocked and excited. Notre Dame is recruiting him as a defensive linemen, which is unlike most schools. That is intriguing to him, but I know he is happy playing on either side of the ball. It won't be a factor in his decision."
