Former JMU pledge Steve Sobczak has verbally committed to Virginia Tech, giving the Hokies their 21st overall recruit and second defensive tackle prospect in the class of 2014. Sobczak, a 6'1", 285-pound senior out of Massaponax High School (Fredericksburg, VA), made the call one week after being informed that Virginia Tech was altering his scholarship offer from a grayshirt to regular enrollment.
As a grayshirt, Sobczak would have delayed enrollment until January of 2015. He now plans to start his Virginia Tech career in the summer of 2014.
