While Good Counsel (Olney, MD) has captured the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference postseason championship each of the past four seasons, DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, MD) remains one of the league's top programs. Led by a talented rising senior class, DeMatha, which has reached the WCAC final three of the past four years, could be poised to retake the WCAC crown in 2013.
"On paper, we look pretty good," Stags head coach Elijah Brooks said. "We have a solid senior class. This class, it was thrown into the fire when I took over. We had some guys transfer. Sophomores were asked to step in and play. I think that was a blessing in disguise. They were able to play, learn confidence, and be leaders."
