Today we'll continue our series about r-senior quarterbacks by focusing on Jim Druckenmiller and his 1996 season. Druckenmiller was a first round pick in the 1997 NFL Draft, and although his NFL career did not pan out, he was only the third first round pick in Virginia Tech history. He was the starting quarterback for two seasons and led the Hokies to a Sugar Bowl win over Texas and an Orange Bowl berth against Nebraska, so he's remembered fondly by Tech fans.
But, how good was he really? Was he a consistent player? Did he look like a first round pick throughout his career? The actual numbers might surprise you.
