Senior Charley Meyer had full scholarship offers from Eastern Michigan, James Madison, Navy, Richmond and William & Mary.  The guaranteed money would've been nice, but he wanted to go to Virginia Tech, which could only offer a recruited walk-on spot to the 6'2", 205-pound wide receiver prospect.  The Benedictine (Richmond, VA) standout went with his heart and committed to the Hokies, and he hopes to take advantage of an opportunity to earn a scholarship after his freshman season.

"After my first year, [the Virginia Tech coaches] will let me know if I've earned a scholarship or not," Meyer said.  "That's one of the things they promised me.  I really like that, because I feel I can go in there and show them what I can do."
