Last season was Davion Tookes ' first as a full-time cornerback. The Creekside (Fairburn, GA) star overcame lack of experience, as well as playing with a soft cast on one of his wrists, to turn in a productive 2010 season, recording 42 tackles, six pass break-ups and three interceptions. As a senior, Tookes continued to be a player head coach Johnny White could rely on to make plays.
"We hung our hats on Davion and [Josh] Holsey to take us as far as they could. Both had great years, but you win and lose up front," said White, whose team finished with a 5-5 record and just missed out on the postseason. Creekside was forced to play two freshman offensive tackles and two sophomores at offensive guard.
