Longtime track and football coach David Pratt, in his fourth year at Hanahan High School (S.C.), calls senior Chris Brown the best athlete he has ever coached. This includes former Notre Dame quarterback Tony Rice, who led the Irish to a national championship in 1988. So certainly, the 6'2", 170-pound Hanahan standout is in good company
"I coached Tony up in Spartanburg," said Pratt, Hanahan's varsity track head coach and varsity football defensive line coach. "Tony was a great athlete too. Chris is a better athlete than Tony. Tony was fast too, and maybe stronger, but as an overall athlete who can run and jump and do all those things, Chris is the better athlete."
