The Hokies held their first scrimmage of August on Saturday afternoon in Lane Stadium. The battle for the backup quarterback position is still ongoing, and David Wilson picked up exactly where he left off in the spring.
Right now, I don't think Ju-Ju Clayton has done enough to unseat r-freshman Mark Leal from the #2 spot on the depth chart. Clayton was much better today than he was during the spring, going 6-of-10 for 51 yards, including a nice 30 yard touchdown pass to r-freshman E.L. Smiling over the middle.
