Virginia Tech's starting quarterback is unproven, his backups even more so.
Quarterbacks coach and play caller Mike O'Cain has two big jobs this August.
First, he has to continue to develop Logan Thomas and get him ready to play in
big games. Second, he has to find the player best suited to serve as the #2 guy
on the depth chart.
Coming out of spring practice, it was very clear that Logan Thomas has a lot
of talent, and that he made a lot of progress during the spring. It was also
clear that the backup quarterback spot was unsettled.
