For the past several weeks, Jawand Blue had been leaning towards committing to Virginia Tech. The 6'0", 195-pound linebacker prospect, a product of West Boca Raton High School (Boca Raton, FL), planned to hold off until this weekend's visit to Blacksburg, which will be his first ever experience at Virginia Tech. Plans changed, though, when Tech received a commitment from Virginia standout Devin Vandyke.
"I've always been high on [Virginia Tech]," said Blue, who committed to Tech today after consulting with his parents and older brother. "They were the first to offer. That's always a good thing. What made me decide was I felt it was probably time to do it before all of the linebacker commits were taken. I wanted to commit a couple of weeks ago, but I was trying to hold off until this weekend so I could see it. Seeing the commitment yesterday, it made me go ahead and commit."
