Varina Blue Devils (VA) head coach Stu Brown knew Tim Harris was a good player. He didn't know quite how good Harris would be, but a call from a Penn State assistant coach last summer provided some insight.
"Last summer, Coach Kenney from Penn State called me from their camp. He said our defensive back was the best one there," Brown said. "I thought it was talking about [rising senior Bryce Bradley], but then I found out it was Tim Harris . Tim played JV as a freshman, so I figured I'd better bring him up to varsity. He was the defensive back MVP as a freshman at the Penn State camp. He has been to three National Underclassmen Camps and got MVP honors at all three. He is 6'2", 178 pounds, and he has run a 4.44-second 40 electronically timed."
