Virginia Tech continues to be the school to beat for defensive lineman Alston Smith , but the Cox High School (Virginia Beach, VA) junior also continues to be open to other schools. Virginia Tech and Old Dominion have offered Smith, who is hopeful the Evaluation period will produce a few more opportunities.
"Duke and North Carolina State came to my school [last week], so that was nice," Smith said. "I have the two offers, Virginia Tech and ODU. I believe N.C. State might be heavy in there. As far as other schools interested in me, there is Duke, I believe Tennessee, South Carolina a little bit, Maryland and Boston College.
