Virginia Tech signed nine offensive players last Wednesday, and they include
prospects for every position except quarterback. Today we'll break down the top
five offensive recruits, and tomorrow we'll do the same for the defense.
The Hokies lost one of their top offensive recruits on Signing Day.
Quarterback Lafonte Thourogood backed out of his verbal commitment and signed
with Vanderbilt. I wasn't 100% convinced that he was a quarterback, but in
Tech's system, he probably was. We also heard through the grapevine that the
Tech coaches considered Thourogood to be a very strong candidate for successor
to Logan Thomas.
