Davion Tookes is currently on his school's Hall of Fame board as a member of the 4X100 relay team, which holds the top 4X100 time in school history. Tookes claims a personal best time of 21.8 seconds in the 200 meters, an event in which he finished fifth in the region last spring. The 5-11, 160-pound junior hadn't fared as well on the football field, though, until he took a turn at cornerback last spring.
"I played offense, but as I got to high school I didn't do so well. So, I tried defense," said Tookes, whose mother and several uncles ran track in high school. An aunt is on the Creekside Hall of Fame for track as well. "It was a little shaky at first, but I got used to it."
