Pitt's loss is Virginia Tech's gain. Two weeks following the resignation of former Panthers head coach Dave Wannstedt, East Stroudsburg South (Stroudsburg, PA) defensive back Kyshoen Jarrett has decided to de-commit from Pitt and commit to Virginia Tech, multiple outlets report.
A highly decorated prospect out of Pennsylvania, Jarrett, a 4-year starter on the varsity level, was a unanimous selection for Mountain Valley Conference Most Valuable Player in 2010. The 6-0, 185-pound senior earned first-team all-MVC honors at running back and defensive back. He was a unanimous first-team all-MVC selection at defensive back last season as a junior, when he racked up 43 tackles, 16 pass break-ups, four interceptions and two forced-fumbles.
