6-4, 185-pound shooting guard/wing forward Tony Kimbro averaged 13.5 points, five rebounds and two steals per game this past season for NCISAA state champ Christ School (Arden, N.C.). Kimbro, a junior who has caught the attention of Virginia Tech and other major Division 1 programs, showed off a nice 3-point shot while averaging 18.3 points per game at the Carolina Challenge.
"Playing here is really good because you get to see where you stand against a lot of your competition," Kimbro said on Saturday. "Playing against [North Carolina 2011 recruit] P.J. [Hairston], I get to see what I've got to work on because he's a very talented player. Checking him, because he's got a good game, helps me see where I am defensively. I've got to work on being quicker and being more physical. I have to be more aggressive against guys like that."
