South Columbus (Tabor City, NC) had one player - tight end/defensive end Ethan Farmer (UNC) - sign with a FBS program in last year's class. It boasts another FBS recruit in the 2011 class in 6-0, 190-pound athlete Brian Riggins . A terrific athlete, Riggins, who can post a vertical leap of 39-inches and ran the 40 in under 4.5 seconds at a Nike Camp, boasts two official offers.
"He has been officially offered by North Carolina and ECU. Virginia Tech told me over the phone that they would offer him, but I haven't seen an official letter," South Columbus head coach Jake Fonvielle said. "N.C. State is interested. All of the North Carolina schools have expressed some interest, actually. Then there is Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee."
