Manchester (Midlothian, VA) offensive tackle Jake Goins did not come away with a Virginia Tech scholarship offer last Saturday, but he remains highly interested in the program. The 6-5, 280-pound prospect hopes to earn an offer at some point in the spring or summer.
"I like Tech a lot," said Goins, a first-team all-Dominion district selection in 2009. "It is probably one of my favorites. It is a great school with great fans. I can tell the coaches care about the players, which is really cool. I still have to check out things with Virginia with the new coaching staff, but I like Tech a lot. I'm sure UVa will be cool, too."
