One of Lafonte Thorougood's main objectives on this past Saturday's visit to Virginia Tech was to learn whether or not he would get a legitimate shot at playing quarterback. The 6-2, 215-pound junior, a 2-year starter at quarterback at Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA), got his answer.
"They said I would get a shot," said Thourogood, who arrived in Blacksburg on Saturday and returned home on Sunday. He made the visit with sophomore defensive end prospect Eli Harrell, who is a teammate and cousin.
