Who saw this one coming? I
sure didn't. Virginia Tech went to Cancun, played their toughest opponent of
the season with Malcolm Delaney on the bench with an injury, and pulled off one
of the top wins of the Seth Greenberg era. Dorenzo Hudson torched Seton Hall for
41 points, which Hudson estimates is his lifetime high, and the Hokies downed
the Hall 103-94 in overtime to go to 12-1 on the season.
A long time ago -- just a few weeks back, chronologically, but a much longer
time perceptually -- I told someone that I felt the Hokies could be as bad as
13-17 in the regular season this year. As I have confessed in previous articles,
I was really down on the Hokies at one point.
