"I was talking with the Tech coaches and they love Nick's versatility," said McTyre, whose team went 5-5 in 2009. "Apparently they've been playfully arguing about where he best fits in. I'm hoping they let him use his athleticism and aggressiveness more closely to the line of scrimmage. Some see him as a safety. I think you take a special package like he has and play him closer to the line. Nick has a great sense for the ball. Coach Newsome was talking about how they use Cody Grimm. He likes Nick in a role like that."
First Colonial Coach High on Dew's Potential TSL Pass

Nick Dew 's athleticism and versatility enabled First Colonial (Virginia Beach, VA) head coach Bill McTyre to play the 6-2, 190-pound prospect at a variety of positions. A 3-year starter on the varsity level, Dew saw action at defensive end, linebacker, safety and running back. He projects to play defense at Virginia Tech, but the exact position appears to be in question at this point.
