Virginia Tech has had success in recruiting central Virginia's Dominion district over the past several years, scoring former Manchester star defensive lineman Khalil Latif and Clover Hill offensive lineman Blake DeChristopher in the 2007 class. Tech has offered another Dominion district lineman in the 2010 class, this time heading to Midlothian High School.
6-3, 290-pound lineman Matt Arkema , a first-team all-district selection in 2008, was offered by the Hokies during the May Evaluation period. He has seen action at tackle and guard in high school, but he projects as a guard or center on the college level.
