In the final full scrimmage before the Spring Game, the Virginia Tech offense made big plays, while Ju-Ju Clayton took a step forward in his quest to become Tech's backup quarterback. The Hokies also suffered injuries on both sides of the ball.
Starting right guard Jaymes Brooks suffered an ankle sprain, was carted off the field, and reappeared later on crutches. With just four practices remaining, including the Spring Game, Brooks has likely seen his last action until practice opens in August. Defensive tackle Courtney Prince, a r-freshman, also suffered an ankle injury. Whip linebacker Jeron Gouveia-Winslow, also a r-freshman, injured his right ankle and knee. The extent of their injuries isn't known at this point.
