Another spring of football begins on Wednesday, and this spring is a bit different from last year. Heading into last season, the Hokies had a quarterback controversy, no wide receivers, new linebackers and no depth on the defensive line, not to mention question marks on the offensive line. Things look much better this year, but some situations still need to be addressed this spring.

As usual, Virginia Tech will have 14 practices, plus the annual Maroon-White spring game. I'm going to be paying close attention to seven different things over the next few weeks. At the conclusion of spring practice, we'll take a look back and see what developed at each spot.
