6-5, 260-pound defensive end Leon Mackey turned in a big-time performance in Hargrave Military Academy's 35-25 win last Friday, racking up four tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks. Mackey has led Hargrave's postgraduate squad in sacks this season, establishing himself as a premier defensive end prospect and sparking the interest of college coaches from across the country.
Mackey signed a letter of intent with Virginia Tech in February of 2008, but because he did not qualify the letter is null and void. He decided to re-open his recruitment and has already taken one official visit this fall.
