6-3, 234-pound tight end prospect Zico Pasut did not feel confident that his camp performance would impress the Virginia Tech coaches enough to earn a scholarship offer. Fortunately for the Ardrey Kell High School (Charlotte, N.C.) standout rising senior, he was wrong and came away from Saturday's camp with an offer.
"They wanted me to come up and run a 4.7 in the 40. That was the goal heading in," Pasut said. "I ran a 4.65 the previous week at West Virginia. I ran a 4.8 flat at Virginia Tech, so I was real frustrated with that. After that, I did all the other drills better than I had ever done them before. I felt like I was doing great in the one-on-ones, but I strained my hamstring on a receiving route and I had to sit out the rest of the camp.
