One of Virginia Tech's biggest recruits - literally and figuratively - in the 2008 class has yet to gain admission to Virginia Tech, but he is working hard to do so and recently picked up some good news on the academic front. Former Hargrave Military Academy defensive end Leon Mackey provided the latest on his academic situation, which seems to have gotten brighter recently.
Mackey is taking three summer school courses in order to get to Virginia Tech. He has finished one already and recently received the grade for that course.
