Last Saturday night, hours after receiving an official scholarship offer from head coach Frank Beamer, Giles (Pearisburg, VA) place-kicker Cody Journell made no secret of his intentions...in all likelihood, he would commit to Virginia Tech and he would do so soon. The 6-0, 175-pound rising senior followed through, giving the staff his pledge last night.
Journell, who is the fourth high school senior to commit to Tech's 2009 class, received an offer from Coach Beamer after turning in an impressive performance at Tech's senior camp.
