Virginia Tech has completed another week of spring practice. There are just
two practices remaining, including Saturday's spring game. A lot of things have
happened since our last update, so let's get right to it.
Tech's backfield is banged up. The top two running backs on the depth chart,
Kenny Lewis and Jahre Cheeseman, are out. Lewis will miss 4-6 months because of
shoulder surgery, which will certainly hurt his chances of being the Hokies'
starting tailback this year. In fact, he might not even be available for the
beginning of the season. In the best-case scenario, he'll be back in August, but
he'll miss all of summer weight lifting and conditioning.
