St. Xavier (Cincinnati, OH) boasts one of the top high school football programs in the country. In 2007, head coach Steve Specht's bunch finished with a 15-0 record and ranked number five in the country by USA Today. Virginia Tech doesn't typically recruit the program, but this year the Hokies have extended an offer to one of the top defensive line recruits in the country.

"Ohio State was his most recent offer," Specht said, referring to top rising senior Pat Muldoon . "He has just blown up. He is a 3-year starter for us. He is 6-4, 265 pounds, but he is a thin 265. He has a great first step. He may have the most explosive first step of any other defensive lineman I've ever coached. He has great explosion. He is a high energy, high motor guy. He'll be a great college player wherever he decides to go."
