As defensive tackle Carlton Powell eyes the NFL Draft, his younger brother anxiously awaits his first Division 1A scholarship offer. Carvin Powell , a 6-3, 200-pound junior out of Great Bridge High School (Chesapeake, VA), is a wide receiver/safety prospect who is drawing significant Division 1A interest. Virginia Tech, which is of course where Carlton starred, is among those programs showing interest.
"Penn State likes him a lot. Maryland is showing interest. UNC is showing interest. Virginia Tech likes him. All of them have said they are coming through in May for him," Great Bridge head Pete Gale said.
