Both of Virginia Tech's 2008 men's basketball recruiting class commitments participated with their respective AAU teams in this past weekend's Boo Williams Invitational in Hampton (VA). J.T. Thompson played with the Charlotte Royals while Shamarr Bowden played with eventual 17-and-under champ Boo Williams Summer League.
6-6, 215-pound J.T. Thompson showed why he is rated a 4-star prospect and the #61 overall player in the country by Scout.com in Saturday's win over the New Jersey All-Stars. Thompson, who played for Hope Christian School this past season, scored 16 points including two big-time dunks in the Charlotte Royals 84-60 win on Saturday.
