A pair of Lake Gibson (Lakeland, FL) junior prospects visited Blacksburg a week-and-a-half ago, and both prospects seemed to enjoy the experience. Of the two recruits - offensive lineman James Jones - Virginia Tech has offered one and is showing significant interest in the other.
Barnum and Jones were key pieces on a team that went 10-3 last season. Two of those losses came to eventual 5A state champion Lakeland. Barnum graded out at 84-percent at offensive tackle this past season, while Jones racked up close to 90 tackles including 12 sacks and 10 tackles-for-loss at defensive end.
