Ever since a 248-yard, 2-touchdown performance his freshman season against a good Louisa squad, Goochland (VA) running back D.J. Coles felt he "had something special." This past season as a junior, the standout prospect used his talents to help Goochland capture its first ever Division 2 Single A state championship in football.
Having played football since he was in the seventh grade, Coles has had success on every level. When he tried out for the varsity football squad his freshman year, he not only made the team but would become the starting running back. Although his first carry was a forgettable one - he fumbled - Coles would run for over 900 yards his freshman year.
