Coaching turnover following the 2005/2006 season did not equate to trouble on the recruiting trail for the Virginia Tech Hokies. Virginia Tech's four new coaches - Torrian Gray, Curt Newsome, Mike O'Cain and Kevin Sherman - tallied 10 of the 25 recruits who either enrolled last month or signed last Wednesday. And they helped build a class that is rated #15 in the country by ESPN.com and #24 in the country by Scout.com.

Newsome led the way for the group, landing four signees according to Hokiesports.com. Along with Jim Cavanaugh, Newsome led the way for Tech's top recruit, Hampton quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Heading into Virginia Tech, he had a reputation as an extremely enthusiastic recruiter and someone who can really relate to kids. He did not disappoint.
